So, I’m sorting through over 300 photos on flickr that never got put into sets. And every so often, I check my ‘stats’ on flickr and see where referring links are coming from. Lo and behold, today I check and what site do I see? One of my other favorites, Apartment Therapy! Now I know I haven’t submitted them anything, so of course I’m curious to see where I’m linked from. Apparently, they have a “wallpapered bathroom” section and voila! There my bathroom is! Not the best-this-room-totally-rocks-cause-it’s-finished-and-fancy photo, but I guess it does show off the pattern better than any other photo.
Anyway, here is the link to the Bathroom Wallpaper article! Pretty neat to randomly discover that I’m linked to another site that has been great inspiration for me.
…now back to the sorting of those photos.
In between hours of sorting and processing, Andy and I planted a few things, documented garden growth, and went to Purgatory Lounge rehearsal (the show is this Saturday night!)

Everyday (that we continue to feed her) Porch Kitty, Porcharita, gets friendlier! She was practically falling off the couch with excitement when this was taken.

This is where I spent most of the morning on Monday (until it got TOO pretty…I needed fresh air) and just about all of Tuesday. Messy bedroom gets cleaned after I finish, I promise!

On Sunday, Andy and I went to Anthropologie because I received a “15% off in March” coupon since it was my Birthday month. So, I utilized it. We bought the Vegetable Box (which is amazing!) It has booklets divided by each vegetable with at least 20 recipes in each booklet. Since we are growing just about every one of these veggies, it seemed fitting! We also bought new mugs with ‘A’ and ‘V’ on them, since we share the same initials! Maple looks concerned in that photo haha.

We also recently got a Venus Fly Trap!

Our willow tree branches are starting to weep! And that’s Gus Gus the Gnome guarding our front step plant. He’s named after my favorite mouse from Cinderella!

And voila! Another day of rain brings out the Bleeding Hearts! We have two healthy, full stemmed “pods” as well as two other tiny growth pods coming about. I was so scared I lost this guy last year…

Our grape vine has produced several new growth spots. We covered it (and the strawberries) with a bird netting so hopefully we can enjoy the fruits this year!

We bought these English Daisies when we got the Venus Fly Trap (as well as white star Sedum to go in the front yard). Apparently the English Daisies will become a ground cover! We planted it in the backyard in an area it’s free to roam and take over if it desires.

Purgatory Lounge is this Saturday (April 4th) and I’m singing another original song. It’s easy for me to write in “sentence stanzas” but I’m totally lost when it comes to writing a melody…I always turn it into a song I already know. Thankfully, that’s where Matt comes in. I’m stoked about the show this weekend. Purgatory Lounge is always fun cause there’s not a ton of work to prepare, only an hour or so of rehearsing each day the week of…and we get to dress up dead the night of the show!

We had a cast party/BBQ last week to celebrate the fun times with Spaghettification. Jon keeps a moon bounce in his car, so we definitely put it to good use! Last week we also filmed the last scene of the play several times since there’s a lot going on…reactions, etc. If you didn’t see the show, then I should explain that my character knocks out the evil Omega character after she threatens to kill us all with a knife. So we are on our last take and I pull back for the punch, and I have no idea what happens, but I accidentally clocked Summer (Omega) right in the jaw. I saw her eyes roll back and her legs give out. I catch her and fall down with her, stunned. I’ve NEVER punched anyone in my life!! Plus, Summer and I had gone through that “punch” over 10 times with no problems, so I couldn’t believe I made contact. She quickly comes to and says she’s loopy. By this time, everyone has gathered with mix facial expressions of shock and giggles. I felt so bad I started to get teary eyed…cause it’s Summer! She’s precious! And I just knocked her out?! 10 minutes later she was fine, and joking about it. I hope she sticks with Crash Boom Bang Theatre and I hope her parents don’t want to kick my ass haha. Apparently, it was a pretty good shot (on the camera) and hopefully it makes it in the movie lol.
That’s a photo series of Jon jumping off the “robot provider”…probably not the smartest thing to do, but he’s alive! So yay!

With all of these rains, our plants our doubling in size. It’s crazy how much growth happens after March 20th (first day of Spring). I guess since our pineapple is golden, it’s ripe! Tiny Pineapple! Our asparagus wins “fastest grower” award cause good grief! Last year, I was afraid I lost my Bleeding Hearts plant, but the other day I went outside and saw the little heart pods coming back! How exciting! I’ve been reading more about them, and I’m hoping to get them in the ground this year so maybe it’ll take off and grow much larger.

Last Monday, Andy and I spent St. Patrick’s Day walking around the neighborhood, and eventually ended up at Lincoln Antiques. We walked by our favorite row of mill houses, although the amount of graffiti has doubled since last time.

Our Heirloom Seed Order came in!! We planted all of the seeds that needed to start indoors, although it’s a bit of a late start. But, not much we could have done about that…plus, I’m sure it’s fine. We’ve also started Spinach, Romaine Lettuce Mix, and Carrots directly into the ground. In a couple of weeks we’ll be able to put most of the seeds in the ground and hopefully soon, feast!

I had never seen an artichoke seed before then!

om nom nom nom

Asparagus from last year. I know it takes 2 or 3 years before it’s established, but any idea what to look for so I know when to harvest? I’m so ready for them!

What a weekend! Friday night’s show was bad. By the end of the show, everyone was beating themselves up. It all started with the light board tripping the breaker in the second scene, then half of the third scene gets cut because of dropped lines, and it’s just a snowball down hill from there. Even in the very beginning, before things started going wrong, the crowd wasn’t very responsive…so I guess we all just gave in to it being a bad show. But, maybe it’s what we needed. Because Saturday night (closing night) was absolutely perfect. The audience laughed at everything…it was wonderful! We were getting cheers and applause between every scene. Our energy was through the roof and everyone was extremely focused, determined not to drop any lines. By the end of the show, when we were doing cast photos, there were so many people that stuck around just to take photos of the cast and crew. It is so wonderful to go out with a bang! It’s always bittersweet to be finished with a show, especially such a wonderful script that we ran five times. Thankfully, we are going to film this and create a movie from it. Tomorrow we are having a cast party/BBQ/filming session…that will be lots of fun!
Below the cut you can see photos as well as a small description of each scene.
A bit ago, my friend Julia asked if I was available for some voice-overs for a commercial. She works for Dreammaker Entertainment and they were finishing up a commercial for Crosswinds Church. It was a simple job, but a lot of fun…especially getting to visit with Julia in her swanky editing room!
After her boss heard the voice-overs, he asked for my resume and head shot. So, I sent those along, and shortly after he contacted me about doing a commercial for Transitions By Steve Latham. It’s a hair transplant service that is branching out to “help” people with their eyebrows.
The shoot itself was funny. Julia put band-aids over my eyebrows and drew on them…basically I had destroyed them so bad that I resorted to band-aids haha. Then, of course, after visiting Transitions, my eyebrows are much better!
I feel I should point out the irony of this whole situation. I HATE my eyebrows! That’s why I have bangs (and to conceal my fivehead lol)…but yeah, I thought it was funny that Mr. Transitions himself thinks I have “great” eyebrows. But hey, whatever works!
When we were at O’Bryan’s we shot the part where I had the funky-band-aided brows as well as showing off my “new” brows. In between, I did a costume change and I was cutting up with Nina (the other gal in the commercial) and I put the band-aids on the mirror in the bathroom…right at the level so when you stood there, they looked like they were on your face. Know what I mean? Anyway, it wasn’t until about an hour later when we had moved on to the next location that I realized I never took them down. I felt SO bad for leaving them there even though I hope it wasn’t a big deal. I just know it’s kinda disrespectful to deface a set you’re on…especially when they let us use their dining area for free. Ooops! I need to remember I’m not always going to be working with Crash Boom Bang or the Dead Workers party hah!
But anyway, below is the link to the commercial:

Apparently this guy has a contract with Monaco Pictures and there’s a possibility that this commercial will be played in the theaters before movies and such. haha I might not be IN the feature presentation, but by golly I’m in the commercials beforehand (maybe)!
