‘Tis the Season 01.04.

In between hours of sorting and processing, Andy and I planted a few things, documented garden growth, and went to Purgatory Lounge rehearsal (the show is this Saturday night!)

Everyday (that we continue to feed her) Porch Kitty, Porcharita, gets friendlier! She was practically falling off the couch with excitement when this was taken.

This is where I spent most of the morning on Monday (until it got TOO pretty…I needed fresh air) and just about all of Tuesday. Messy bedroom gets cleaned after I finish, I promise!

On Sunday, Andy and I went to Anthropologie because I received a “15% off in March” coupon since it was my Birthday month. So, I utilized it. We bought the Vegetable Box (which is amazing!) It has booklets divided by each vegetable with at least 20 recipes in each booklet. Since we are growing just about every one of these veggies, it seemed fitting! We also bought new mugs with ‘A’ and ‘V’ on them, since we share the same initials! Maple looks concerned in that photo haha.

We also recently got a Venus Fly Trap!

Our willow tree branches are starting to weep! And that’s Gus Gus the Gnome guarding our front step plant. He’s named after my favorite mouse from Cinderella!

And voila! Another day of rain brings out the Bleeding Hearts! We have two healthy, full stemmed “pods” as well as two other tiny growth pods coming about. I was so scared I lost this guy last year…

Our grape vine has produced several new growth spots. We covered it (and the strawberries) with a bird netting so hopefully we can enjoy the fruits this year!

We bought these English Daisies when we got the Venus Fly Trap (as well as white star Sedum to go in the front yard). Apparently the English Daisies will become a ground cover! We planted it in the backyard in an area it’s free to roam and take over if it desires.

Purgatory Lounge is this Saturday (April 4th) and I’m singing another original song. It’s easy for me to write in “sentence stanzas” but I’m totally lost when it comes to writing a melody…I always turn it into a song I already know. Thankfully, that’s where Matt comes in. I’m stoked about the show this weekend. Purgatory Lounge is always fun cause there’s not a ton of work to prepare, only an hour or so of rehearsing each day the week of…and we get to dress up dead the night of the show!
