We launched our new White Rabbit Studios site! Since our first version was thrown together so quickly in time for a Gallery Tour at the Mill, I really wanted to go with something much softer. Oh and! this was my first time working with flash so I’m just happy I even got the damn thing to work lol.
Anyway, as always, feedback is much appreciated! Another “Oh and!” is that thanks to my friend Corry, I found the link to have a direct blog via wordpress via godaddy. So that is a HUGE yay! I’ll be playing around with the coding for that and I’m aiming to get it done before Gonerfest, but I’m not going to break my back or anything. But yeah, already the WordPress interface is much much better than blogger.
Now to get ready for December 3rd, the next Gallery Tour. Now that we have a more concrete business in place, we can come up with neat ways to set up our area. If we start prepping now, it’ll be a lot easier than rushing at the last minute. But who am I kidding, I’ve always been that way. Pressure gets shit done…faster.
So yeah, feedback ::wink wink::
PS! Some of the blush photos (on the site) might not be safe for work…so heads up.

Oh boy! White Rabbit Studios had the WONDERFUL pleasure of shooting this fabulous engagement session starring Amy and Randell. I met Randell a couple of years ago during Crash Boom Bang’s “A Few Good Minutes” and he was also the saving grace that hung all of our new drywall. I’m so happy he’s found his other half…and boy are they a perfect patch!

One ‘dreary’ afternoon we decided to fill some of our new planters with new species and take a nice stroll around Bennett Nurseries. It’s such a peaceful place and one of my favorites in Huntsville.

seedlings eeee!

Our Clematis is in full bloom and it’s wonderful! And with this cooler weather, windows open, the breeze carries their scent to fill our bedroom…it’s so refreshing! We have it growing in five different places this year. Last year it was only in three, so it jumped to two new places.

(that’s the view from our bathroom window)
I’m as tall as our elephant ears! This is the first year we get to enjoy them all season, and they have grown to be HUGE! It’s quite exciting!

Our neighbor’s dog (Gracie, I think) is so adorable! She always mumbles a bark when we come home and it’s more of a ‘hello’ than an actual bark. She’s taller than the porch railings!

I got this light a few weeks ago at a yard sale for $1…now I just need to add a nail to hang it.

We made home made cookies from scratch the other night! omg they were so delicious!

Every morning Maple brings me her blue ball and plays a mean game of fetch. She’ll get real excited and meow the whole time…it’s absolutely adorable.

I’m all about trying new restaurants…especially ones that are local ‘mom and pop’ shops. The Cajun Cafe is located across the bridge on Hwy 231. Andy and I finally got a chance to try it with a group of our friends. It was (is) fantastic! It was a nice outing, and the golden hour for lighting so there’s plenty of visuals.

yessiree bob!
Thom Yorke is releasing a 7″ on Andy’s birthday! Apparently, it’s limited to only 2,000. I know this is sometimes a gimmick, but I didn’t take any chances. So heads LJ friends that care 🙂
You can order it here!!

Last Sunday Andy and I went to the Preston Flea Market off of Meridian Street. It’s an outdoor flea market open on Saturdays and Sundays. I’ve found some of the best things in our house for super cheap…like $1 cheap. Anyway, last week I walked by this one guy’s stuff and saw these horrific ‘gold’ seagulls that you hang on the wall. Really cheesy-this-should-be-in-an-80’s-beach-house tackiness. But something was pulling me to them…after all, they were only $3! But, I decided to mull it over while we walked around more and planned to pick them up on the way out. Of course, I forgot. I didn’t think too much of it at first until I thought of my idea* more, especially after they appeared in my dream. Then, I lost a couple nights’ sleep over the stupid birds. So I was super anxious for this Saturday to roll around. We went yesterday and didn’t even see the guy there. Andy reassured me by suggesting that he probably does other places on Saturdays and comes here on Sundays. I perked up and we went to Meridian Street Cafe for breakfast (our first time eating there…Y U M!!)
So today, Andy and I wake up early to go back and check. There’s the dude! There’s his stuff! My heart races with excitement! hmmm…no gold seagulls. I ask the gentleman if he was indeed the one with the seagulls. He asked if they were gold and I excitedly said yes…thinking maybe it was still in his truck. “Sold ’em last week” was his response. Dammit!!! Now everything around me turned back into this pile of junk that some stranger was trying to convince me to buy. I quietly huffed and puffed as I browsed the remaining piles of crap. I did find a gem of a red purse and began scolding myself for ignoring my initial gut feeling. As we came upon the last vendor, something glared in my eye as I walked by. I looked down onto a grouping of the hideous golden seagulls. My heart practically stopped. Could this be true? The same ones??? I nudged Andy and he started laughing. I asked the guy how much they were and he said five bucks. I asked if he’d take $3, and he agreed! So either he bought them last week or he just so happened to have the exact same set of birds. Maybe some big condo got renovated. Whatever the case, I’ve got my birds.
*The plan is to spray paint them the red color of our bathroom chandelier and hang them in our living room (we have a bit of red in there as well). I’ll report back with before, during and after photos if this project looks as good as I hope. If not, oh well…$3 gone. If so, wahoo $3 decor!

can you tell I have a thing for trees yet?

It’s August, so it’s about time our Clematis opens up! I love this time of year. Soon we are about to have a burst of fragrant, dainty white flowers spilling off of the vine on our fence. I can’t wait.

Porcharita has become such a friendly kitty since the first time we tried to approach her. Prolly has to do with the fact that our porch feeds her. She makes muffins really fast when she walks and will jump up to your hand to encourage a head scratch. She’s sweet 🙂
