Kayla (our niece)’s First Birthday! 21.01.

The horrible band that was playing covered (butchered) Radiohead…and that explains my face in the second to last photo.

After Free the Hops we went to
Josh’s where we all became
couch locked and watched
the movie Life of Brian.

Andy and I went to Harrison Brothers on Saturday to see what they had in the basement for historical homes. Unfortunately, the only wood they keep is small scraps…not enough for a kitchen/bath floor. There were a ton of doors and knobs.
Weird…I didn’t even plan that song to be playing.
Andy and I have decided to start a new photo project for ourselves. It’s simple. Every time it rains, we take a photo. It doesn’t matter how many or what of, we just take a photo on a rainy day. The project began yesterday.

Floor support added in the bathroom (which is great, cause the whole thing was about to fall in) and more bricks exposed on the dining room fireplace. We have to start thinking about what floor to use in the kitchen and bath. Saturday, we are making a trip to Harrison Brothers. They have a collection of salvaged wood for people to use when renovating houses…so hopefully we’ll find something there. I’m not 100% opposed to laying new wood floors, but I would love to find some that were already a bit worn so they’ll blend in a little bit better than *bam* brand new floors.
The plumbing is just about finished. We got a new hot water heater, so it’s only a matter of time before the floors go in, and the walls go up. Our stove is being delivered on the 22nd. Most likely it won’t be ready to be installed, which is ok because Chico can hook it up when they are finished with the kitchen work.
Yesterday, Andy and I went to price appliances, toilets, sinks, showers, and tubs. We really only got to two places…Home Depot and Lowe’s. I don’t know of any places that specialize in showers and tubs, except one in Scottsboro. They have the tub we first fell in love with, but we discovered Lowe’s carries claw-foot tubs for a bit cheaper.

I have a video from last night of The Counter Clockwise too, but it was larger than 100mb, so YouTube couldn’t host it. If anyone has any video editing software that would compress the video (or what have you) that would be wonderful!
Last night’s show was a lot of fun, simply put. I haven’t stayed out ’til 3am in a long time.
