Every time I open this wardrobe Maple will meow at me until I put her at the top. She’ll dig herself a little burrow and snuggle up. She’s done this ever since she first saw it!

Sine we are unsure of Maple’s origins, we don’t really have a “birthday” for her…but I was looking back at the first time we found her, and that little anniversary is next month!
Oh, Noodlehead! How you’ve brought us so much joy and happiness. And that even though you are now a cat, you are STILL so playful. In fact, right now you are playing fetch with me and your fuzzy blue ball. I’m amazed at how much energy you still have and the fact you still live up to your nickname of Noodlehead (she’ll do this hilarious and fast head turn, back and forth, whenever she’s playing with something, and it’s like a floppy noodle!)

Yesterday I finally finished processing the huge batch of photos from our trip to Tucson for Kelly’s wedding. I’ve given her a set of 655 images that range from her bachelorette party to the morning after to the gorgeous wedding, and finally to the huge party called the reception.
It was the hardest wedding I’ve shot to date, by far. Only because it was so emotional for me. Watching my best friend, arm in arm with her dad walk down the aisle to the new man in her life. To witness Kelly and Joel starting their life together, and to watch them seal their promises to each other with a kiss, and to celebrate this happiness with all of my friends in one place. My eyes were watering throughout the ceremony as their wedding day continued flawlessly.
I’m only sharing a small batch of what I captured, but if you are interested in seeing the entire set, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to send you the guest pass to view them all!

On the evening of July 12th, we sat on the porch and watched the storm roll in. This shot was just as it started raining, and the winds were picking up.

The rain starts pouring and visibility is reduced significantly.

yay!

yay again!

Miranda braved the scorching heat for her lovely bridal session before I left town for Arizona. The blazing sun didn’t stop Miranda’s smile from reaching ear to ear. But who can blame her? She’s getting married to the love of her life soon! That can make anyone grin and bear it. Thanks Miranda for a beautiful session!
That day was actually pretty silly. In the middle of the shoot, my shoe broke and I was left hobbling around trying to avoid blistering my foot on the scorching pavement. It was pretty intense!
Here are a few of my favorites:

Jon Busdeker, of The Huntsville Times and GO! Magazine, has always been so generous with his plugs about Vertical House Records. While checking our stat counter today, Andy found that Jon wrote about our Eargasms #5 download we have available on our site. We’ve been handing them out in the store, but wanted to make it available for download so people all over can enjoy! So, if you’re hankering for some new music, I definitely recommend you download our Eargasms #5! If you like what you hear, let me know and I’d be more than happy to pass along the first 4 Eargasms we made!
Also, this guy in Birmingham has a music blog, and he linked to our download as well!

Back in May I went on a photo excursion with my friends in Thomas Function in hopes to get a shot for their newest album cover. It worked! Josh just sent me an email with the LP jacket cover. He gave us the final version of the album last week and it sounds awesome! I can’t wait for it to come out! I had to keep the photos private until they decided on which one they wanted to use, but now that everything is going to print, I’m free to share. I’ll post some of my favorites from the shoot, but you can see the whole set here.
Here is the jacket layout. I took the photo of them by the cross.
hehe I love these peek a boo shots

I found this (real!) cactus magnet in the Tucson airport. It was too cute to pass up! I totally forgot we had the Alabama magnet until I got home. So now I think we’ll start collecting magnets whenever we travel…even though it’s few and far between.
While we were away, our venus fly trap’s flowers bloomed! I hear these things do much better in the ground, but he’s doing pretty awesome in our kitchen window, it appears. I’m afraid he wouldn’t get enough water if we put him in the ground…plus he’s so tiny!

Tuesday night Matt called me up to shoot my scene in The Valentine Killer, a short movie for the upcoming Pine Hill Haints tour (if they are coming to your city…go see them!!!) in August. The premise is based on a comic that the lovely Katie Barrier (of the Haints) wrote. Here are some stills from the shoot:
I felt like Mary Poppins! And Robert Daniel played the Valentine Killer.
