Here Comes Fall 12.08.

Lately, we’ve been able to leave the doors and windows open and it’s made for wonderful afternoons in the house. I can’t wait until fall gets here and we’ll be able to leave them open everyday until the bitter cold comes…

Living Room. I need to re-hang the curtains, cause they keep falling every so often. We have them screwed into the stud so I have no idea why this happens, but it’s frustrating. They actually fell on Andy’s head yesterday, so now there’s a Pac Man sheet hanging in the window.

Plumbing is coming along with the tub. We can take baths, but we have to do a little bit of work before getting the shower ring/head up. In that photo the pole looks crooked, but it’s ok. It has a ball-and-joint type connection (no idea what it’d be called) that allows for it to be flexible when hooking up with the shower rod. This morning I took a bubble bath and it was wonderful!

Bedroom. I changed out the bedspread. I remember getting this when we lived in our old house and being excited for the first time to use it in this house! And voila!

This is the sink we found at Southern Accents the other week. I’ve been on the hunt for a sink with two faucets, and I love everything about this sink except for the actual handles…plus, one of the sections broke on the 45 minute ride home. So, now I’m in search for a new set of cross handles. Of course the sink needs a bit of a touch up, but it shouldn’t be a huge ordeal. Maybe we’ll have it in by Christmas (hah!)

Crash Boom Bang Theatre Did it for (more) Skits and Giggles 12.08.

Crash Boom Bang had an incredible turnout! The door was $930 or something, so that comes out to around 132 people…not to mention 8 tickets given out through GO! and I’m sure there might have been a couple of other free rides. Once again, the audience was such a pleasure and just fueled our fire. And during the Pussy Energy Drink skit, you could hardly hear it backstage over the laughter! I knew that would get the most laughs.

I always get super nervous before the skit shows we’ve done because it’s such a different type of material. Some of the original plays that have been written could seriously go to competition with nice chances at winning…however, with the skits, it’s catering to a completely different audience/genre. Sure, the two groups might overlap, but I think there’s still a lot of differences. But I really get giddy when I think of how we are creating something so completely original in this area…and it seems to be catching on.

The afternoon of the show, Channel 19 did a surprise interview with Jon and I about the upcoming show and Crash Boom Bang. I didn’t get to see it, so I have no idea what they used. But apparently they want to do something before each of our shows…woo! Mitch, a continuing supporter of CBB, works at Channel 48 and he’s going to also get coverage for the next times. Y e s s s s s s.

But now we are shifting gears. It’s time to prepare to build and create the Haunted House. Yep, Crash Boom Bang is going to have the best Haunted House in Huntsville…you just wait. It’ll be open during all of the weekends in October, and come Halloween Night, we are having an after part for the Dixie Derby Girls’ Bout that will be at the Civic Center (ie HUGE!!!). They are expecting thousands to attend, and then come to the Mill for the Haunted House/after party/bands. It’s going to be wonderful! Matt’s goal is to use at least 50 gallons of blood during each “run” of the Haunted House. I can’t wait!

Tonight 05.08.

Tonight we cooked shrimp, okra, hush puppies, and a spinach salad. It was delicious! After dinner, and once it got dark, we went on a bike ride around the neighborhood and downtown. Here’s proof.

Botticellis 7″ Artwork & Vertical House Records’ First Release 05.08.

Yay! Today The Botticellis‘ self-titled 7″ got delivered. Andy designed the entire thing and it looks awesome! It’s neat to be able to hold it…and think that something Andy created will be seen in stores all over.

Monte Sano Mountain 04.08.

Today Andy and I took a picnic lunch up to Monte Sano. Although it was 93 degrees at our house, it felt much cooler up there with the trees and a breeze. After lunch, we took a 4 mile hike on different trails throughout the mountain side. We spent most of the day on the mountain, and on the way home picked up some shrimp for dinner tonight. YUM!
