Fletcher C. Johnson in Nashville 21.03.
My favorite album of 2012 was Fletcher C. Johnson’s “Salutations”, hands down. Something about it hit me on just about every level. The music, the falsettos, the lyrics, the catchiness – all of it resonates so well! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d witness him play live. Two weeks ago I happily danced and sang along to some of my favorite songs in complete bliss as they played less than 5 feet away from me.
David, Ellis, Andy and I trekked to Nashville for the day show at the newly opened Stone Fox. We were supposed to have seen King Tuff there, but the venue wasn’t ready yet. However, the place has since come alive and was slinging beers and food during the bands’ performances. We started the day with lunch at The Pharmacy (a delicious burger and beer garden) before squeezing in as much vinyl shopping as we could before the show started. We were in somewhat of a hurry to get home as there was another show David was eager to get back to happening at Lowe Mill. Nashville is always a fun trip, but I feel like we only scratch the surface when we visit. I’m thankful it’s so close as it’s certainly a wonderful city to explore!
