2013 Hopefulutions 01.01.
2012 was a blast! Lots of great music, friends, trips, and laughs! New adventures, exciting opportunities, and fabulous friends made this year so worthwhile! You can check out the review of 2012 for more details.
2013 Resolutions
- Photograph more with film and begin “the transition”
- Continue to grow and push the envelope with White Rabbit Studios (free wedding websites with bookings, handmade albums, letterpress recipe cards, other goodies)
- Start selling some of my vintage collection (either in the store or online again)
- Get the wheels in motion for another Hi-Fi Wedding Fest
- Go on tour with The Porcharitas (even a long weekend would be fun!)
- Spend a weekend unplugged from the internet on a fun adventure with Andy
- Set up our screen printing/darkroom equipment
- Expand our garden/build a green house
- Go on more walks, drink more tea/water
- Visit California
- More Yoga!
- Help host a kickass festival
- Write at least five songs
- Start recording live shows and blogging them (I have a whole idea I’d like to do which involves filming snip-its of the band performing, along with dancing and show antics with a super 8 camera. Record the band’s live set, then pick one song to put with the footage and create an awesome video. However, this is very involved, so even just filming at least one song with our crappy point and shoot will suffice. We just need to do SOMETHING!)
- Another label to want to put out Porcharitas’ first album (Vertical House Records obviously has dibs…but it would be exciting to be contacted by a favorite label ya?!)
- Keep up with my personal blogging
- Revitalize Crash Boom Bang! Theatre (hopefully everything in the pipeline for CBB flows through!)
- Finish the upstairs (this is a huge undertaking…even to accomplish part of this will be incredible!)
- Go to the beach (this needs to be a “must” every year.)
2012 Resolutions (with commentary)
- Go on more walks, drink more tea/water (Check! We went on walks at least once a day when it was nice outside. I also drink at least two cups of tea a day! Still need more water…)
- Try to visit California, New York, or New Orleans (BOO! None of these happened BUT we are hoping to visit Cali in March. Just gotta do my taxes and then we can buy the tickets!)
- More Yoga! (Check, although it’s still on the list this year!)
- Put out a full length album (This is a pretty long process, and we are in the midst of it! We need to finish recording, master it, and then send it off…but at least we started!)
- Have at least one kick ass show in our new store (Check, check, and check! We had lots of great folks play our store this year! Hells to the yeah!)
- Write at least five songs (I wrote three, and assisted with a few…so halfway check! Since I want The Porcharitas to continue, I’m keeping this goal on the list for 2013.)
- Adjust well to changes (mainly WRS related) (Check! Although this was a rough patch in 2012 I’m hoping time will heal any wounds and bridges to repaired friendships can be built.)
- Another label to want to put out Porcharitas (Burger Records has shown interest, but I’m not counting any chickens – plus we have to finish up recording the full length.)
- Keep up with my personal blogging (meh…I always do ok in the first half of the year, then I start slacking. Sad trombone.)
- Create even more hilarity with CBB/DWP (Definitely a slow year. Although the Porcharitas music video was a BLAST, I miss live theater! Oh, Natasha and I got to dress up as nurses for the Thunderkrotch music video shoot so that helped the cravings for the couple of nights we filmed that. Since there has been talk of plans for next year, I thought it best to include it again on the list for 2013.)
- Move past the bathroom from hell and see progress on our upstairs (plumbing, insulation, walls, floors, ceilings, doorways – lots to be done!) (While we haven’t actually began the hard work, we have finally decided on how we want everything laid out upstairs. Hopefully we can began – and dare I say, complete? – all the actual renovations up there this year!)
- Vertical House Records to become one of the top ten stores in our region (Check?! I have no idea how to measure this, but we do get TONS of compliments from traveling vinyl nuts who really love our store.)
- Go to the beach (CHECK!)
