Last Week into the Weekend 09.06.

Starting Wednesday of last week, it has been a whirlwind of awesome music. From Hurray for the Riff Raff, to a Panic Buttons surprise reunion, to the Pine Hill Haints’ new album (holy shit so good…we have five advance copies on cd and lp for the store if anyone’s interested).

Every night we were at the mill until at least 3am. Exhausting, but super fun weekend.

I didn’t take any more photos during Bamalama because I was either dancing, working the door, or hanging out in the store. All of the bands were awesome and it sounded great! I know I will probably regret it, but I would have had to use flash and I hate being that person running around in front with the annoying bright light. Plus, the dancing by the stage was always really crazy and I wouldn’t have had as much fun worrying about my camera getting knocked.

We learned a lot from Bamalama this year versus last. I saw “we” because Zach came over last night and we hung for a few hours and discussed everything…the good, the bad, the ugly. It was actually pretty discouraging that hardly anyone from Huntsville came. It was mainly out of town folks that came down from Milwaukee, Chicago, etc. I understand the music doesn’t appeal to the Big Spring Jam crowd, but that’s the point.

Ah well…we’ll see what happens next year.

haha J.D. (of the Dead Workers Party) models our lovely tee design. And hey! Thanks to all of you who have already picked one up/shown interest…you’re awesome!
