Drywall!!!! 12.06.

Finally, it’s really beginning to feel like a house again. Randall is downstairs right now finishing the drywall. Hopefully by this weekend, Andy and I will know exactly how we want to do our bathroom floors. We’ll be doing that project by ourselves. Once the bathroom floor is in we can finally get a washer and dryer (no more lugging it to and fro South Side) and a claw-foot tub. Bath nights with wine can return yay!

This is standing in the kitchen looking towards the bathroom (where the doorway is.) Along the wall to the right will be the stove and fridge…which are currently stationed between the living and dining rooms until the kitchen floor is put in. On the far right side of the photo you can see where the opening leading to the dining room is.

Other views of the kitchen. The one on the left is the continuation of the first picture. The right picture is looking at the kitchen from the bathroom doorway.

Left photo is standing in the kitchen looking through the dining room and into the living room. There will be french doors right where I’m standing to give some separation to the dining room and kitchen. The right photo is opposite – I’m standing in the living room looking through the dining room and into the kitchen.

I can’t wait to re-finish the staircase back to it’s original poplar wood. In the left photo I’m standing in the living room looking towards the staircase. There used to be a wall with a normal doorway in that opening. I had the wall taken out to let more light into the living room…and to show off the stairs. Through the opening to the right is the front door and to the left is the bedroom door. Eventually, I hope to get the front porch (right photo) screened in so I can leave open the front door and have the porch to be an expansion of the living room. I think the kitties will love it best.

Speaking of kitties, I took Sadie downstairs yesterday to check it all out. She seemed pretty excited…for a cat. I’ve been taking her downstairs throughout the progression of things. I’m too afraid to try that with Maple. She’s still a spaz of sorts.
