Horror Movie Filming 29.06.

Over the past week I was in a horror movie! My character’s name was Jana and she met a group of people at a bar and eventually got killed with most of the group. I’ve always wanted to do a horror movie and the Dead Worker’s Party are taking their sweet time (which is understandable) so it was fun to get invited to this project. The title of the movie is in limbo, but I think it’ll come out great!

Here are some stills.

DAY ONE
Bar scenes shot at The Chicken Shack. This place has quite a history among North Alabama. The Parcus family opened the 24 hour alcohol retreat and boy…if walls could talk, I’m sure this place could write a few novels.

The Blue Angles were practicing for the Air Show that was on Saturday…there were times when the Chicken Shack rumbled because they were flying so low.

DAY (NIGHT) ONE
Torture scene. We got to the house (about 30 minutes from Huntsville) around 9pm. We didn’t get home until after 2am. It was awesome though. Andy ended up playing the part of the killer that sliced up my character’s arms and cut out her tongue. Thankfully, after the shoot I got a chance to jump in the shower to rinse off the majority of the blood before it really stained my skin…plus, it was nice not to drive home with all of that on me. The other killer character (played by Bart) wore his mask to run an errand. Coming back to the filming location, he said a cop started to follow him. He ended up losing the cop and arrived pretty shaky. But man, could you imagine how that would have went had the cops came into the house? Three people tied up, two dripping with “blood” and two masked characters. Wow.

The gentleman that plays the preacher character (which you’ll see under the cut) is 86 years old! He’s apparently been in over 70 various productions. He was hilarious! And very convincing…he was the “ring leader” of the killers. Oh, and his name is Dick Tate. How awesome?

I love this wallpaper pattern that was in the house.

DAY TWO
This shoot was the kidnapping scene for my character and Jeff’s (CL). We shot in a hotel (Room 116) in Hartselle, where Jeff was actually staying. This shoot only took an hour. Basically CL and Jana came back to the hotel after the evening at the bar. Plus, this will be a montage in the movie, so no need for vocals. Which was totally opposite from the night before where I was screaming my lungs out.
