River Rats 22.06.
Our friend’s family has an awesome house on the Elk River, right where it meets with the Tennessee. It’s about a 45 minute drive from where we live, but it’s SO worth it. A few car loads of us headed out there a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. We spent the day on the river, had a delicious cook out, and headed back into town for a show in our record store (Strange Boys, Nightmare Boyzzz, and Cute as Hell…mine and Matt’s “band/group/thing”).
We continued the fun the next day and headed to the Flint River, which is only 10 minutes away. There’s a nice clearing with shallow river water and an area to “lay out”. We met two boys that lived around that area and they told us all kinds of crazy river stories and talked about some of the things they’ve found. In fact, they disappeared for a while before returning with a brand new looking fishing pole that they found at the bottom of the river.
After those two days of fun in the sun, we decided we are going to try to go as much as possible…’tis the year for river rats!
