I’m such a sucker for icons. The bride silhouette we actually used in our wedding as the cover image for the mix cds we made. I’ve wanted to use her again ever since!

the scrollbar – the less clicks, the better! I personally can’t stand when the photos are buried beneath 4 menus. Also, when they are divided into names…I don’t know the people, so how do I know which to click on. If I do any dividing, it’ll be into "Bridal/Groom" "Wedding" and whatever else.

the background patterns – I’m also such a sucker for patterns.

the simplicity – while I think some flash sites are nice, for the most part, I find them a pain. To tell people to re-size their page or even open a new one with loud music blaring can be bad for those poking around at work or the library. Especially when you (like I do) open several tabs during search options.

the photo sizes – I know it takes a while to load (see dislikes), but I love the size of the photos. I think it allows the captured moment to shine through without having to squint

the control – the viewer has complete control to what photo they want to look at. No fighting the auto slide show to go back to that one image you gasped at.

the contact form – hopefully brides will find it convenient to use and I’ll have the majority of information I need immediately. Plus, I think it’ll help me communicate back with them.

Dislikes:

loading time – there are a lot of photos, and it takes a while to load. Any suggestions? I’m looking into Ajax to use a dynamic photo load. However, Ajax is like a brand new toy…any tips from you web gurus out there? Or any additional things to possibly try?

I’m not totally opposed to incorporating flash, but from what I understand dynamic flash would be best, right? I just want a very clean, slick photo presentation where you don’t have to click a bunch to view the images. So yeah, I’m totally open to suggestions and I appreciate any feedback!

Vertical House Wedding Photography version 1.0 is alive!
