I saw parts of the world I&#8217;ve only DREAMED about &#8211; Hawaii and Italy! I photographed some of the most beautiful weddings and shared so many heartfelt moments with sweet souls! It was a pretty big year for growth &#8211; emotionally and professionally &#8211; and I&#8217;m absolutely thrilled to see what 2015 has in store! I personally love setting goals (large and small), so these lists are always fun for me to do! Here&#8217;s what I have my fingers crossed for (and commentary on last year&#8217;s hopefulutions).<\/p>\n<p><strong>2014 Resolutions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel (yep, still on the list haha)<\/li>\n<li>Expand WRS (new studio, possible lab, introduce new ideas)<\/li>\n<li>Start a band with Andy<\/li>\n<li>Take a train to NOLA (leaving this on the list)<\/li>\n<li>Expand Vertical House Records<\/li>\n<li>Make more time for gardening<\/li>\n<li>Construct a greenhouse or implement cold frames<\/li>\n<li>Publish a photo book<\/li>\n<li>Visualize and execute 3-5 styled sessions<\/li>\n<li>Capture at least 2 destination weddings<\/li>\n<li>Visit the PNW<\/li>\n<li>Learn a new camera system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more 2013 Resolutions (with commentary)--><br \/>\n<strong>2013 Resolutions (with commentary)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Travel<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/therealverticalhouse.com\/blog\/?p=2102\" target=\"_blank\">Hawaii<\/a>! <a href=\"http:\/\/therealverticalhouse.com\/blog\/?p=2125\" target=\"_blank\">Italy<\/a>! <a href=\"http:\/\/therealverticalhouse.com\/blog\/?p=2215\" target=\"_blank\">Savannah<\/a>! And lots of little trips in between. I can&#8217;t wait to see where 2015 takes us. I have definitely been bitten by the travel bug!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get published with my film work<\/strong> (Check! No&#8217;Ala Magazine, Magnolia Rouge, Style Me Pretty, Southern Bride, Southern Weddings, Travelouge, and several other fantastic folks are so supporting!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set up a darkroom<\/strong> (womp womp don&#8217;t currently have an active one &#8211; but fingers crossed we get our new space this year and can make this one happen)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Take a train to NOLA<\/strong> (boo hiss not this year! I&#8217;m keeping my fingers crossed that a new idea I have with WRS will allow this to work out this year!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bike more<\/strong> (We biked all over the place! Not so much in the Winter cause I&#8217;m still a baby about the cold, but any day it was nice we walked or rode our bike)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make more time for gardening<\/strong> (Had a pretty nice garden this year! I can&#8217;t wait to get our green house constructed so we can get a more permanent plan in place)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Construct a greenhouse or implement cold frames<\/strong> (we found most all of the windows for it &#8211; now just to build it! This goal remains on the list since we are one huge step closer!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get more involved with the photographic community<\/strong> (I networked a lot &#8211; yay! Met lots of new friends! Excited to see where life takes us!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Host a really great party<\/strong> (Friendsgiving was so much fun and we had a couple of Summer night parties. MOAR BBQS PLZ!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start a vintage shop &#8211; either a brick and mortar or online store<\/strong> (not quite, but I am selling some of my vintage dresses in our shop&#8230;so half a check mark?)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pick up an additional yoga class<\/strong> (Not one, but two additional classes!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start cooking with Andy<\/strong> (not sure why I don&#8217;t have the patience for it, but Ima keep trying!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2014 was mind-boggling!
